Michigan Stone & Boulders

This multi-colored, smooth, washed stone is, as the name implies, a native of our state, making it readily available and    therefore, the most economically priced of our stone mulches. Available sizes range from Peastone to Boulders and may be used for many applications. We strongly recommend using a weed barrier under all stones that are used as mulch. Hammond Farms carries C.M.H.D. contractor grade weed fabric. Weed fabric will allow water to pass through to plants, but resists weeds.

• Peastone
  This stone is frequently used for footings, play areas and in dog kennels.  The rounded pebbles are 3/8" and smaller.

  This smooth, washed stone is frequently used under decks and is often used as drainage stone in drain fields. This stone is also called "float Stone".

  This stone is a very clean, colorful Michigan stone that is ideal for pathways and as filler around flagstone. This is the same material as above, but contains stone ranging in size from ½ to 1”.
